Furthering and Strengthening STEM Scholarships and Fellowships

The Science Ambassador Scholarship presented by Cards Against Humanity

Film a three-minute educational video of yourself explaining a STEM topic you're passionate about.

Your application video should be:

  • A mini-lecture, not a personal statement. Pretend you're a lecturer speaking to a class. Teach us something!
  • Clear, creative, accurate, and a demonstration of your passion for the subject. We value novel, memorable approaches to topics. Your video doesn't need to be fancy or high-tech. Production value is not a factor.
  • Three minutes or less in length. Videos longer than this will not be considered. No exceptions!
  • About any STEM topic, not necessarily your field of study. Pick a topic that excites and fascinates you. We don't need to hear about the latest thing in science news (unless that's your jam).
  • Scientifically accurate. We encourage you to cite the sources used to research your topic. Ideally, this would be in a slide or frame at the end of your video. You can use any citation format you'd like.
  • Uploaded to YouTube and marked 'public.' We can only accept videos, not Shorts. To prevent your video from automatically turning into a Short, avoid uploading a square or vertical aspect ratio, and instead use a wider one, like 16:9.

Other Award Opportunities

Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Society-Selected Scholarships

Society-Selected Scholarships are offered by SWE Headquarters. Applicants submit one of three applications based on their academic stage or location: Emerging First Year, Collegiate/Graduate, or India Scholars.

Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme (MSCFP)

The IAEA Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme (MSCFP) seeks to inspire and support young women to pursue a career in the nuclear field. To that end, the MSCFP provides scholarships to selected students studying towards a master’s degree in nuclear related subjects as well as limited internship opportunities facilitated by IAEA.

Society of Women Engineers (SWE) - Section-Selected Scholarships

SWE Section-Selected Scholarships are managed by local SWE sections to support the next generation of engineers studying engineering, technology, and related fields. Awarded and funded by each section, these scholarships feature tailored criteria to local community needs and provide financial support, mentorship, and connections within the local SWE network. Each section sets its own eligibility requirements and application process.

Note: Section-Selected Scholarships are different from Society-Selected Scholarships and have their own application, and awarding and funding process.
